Walking the Halls in Brussels

Early in his career as a sovereign analyst, Portfolio Manager Ken Orchard established valuable contacts at the European Commission during the Global Financial Crisis.
These connections became crucial when Ken joined T. Rowe Price in 2010 amidst the eurozone crisis. He traveled to Brussels to obtain insights from the European Commission's Department of Economic and Financial Affairs, discovering a contrast between the Commission's confidence in Ireland’s ability to manage its crisis and the market's panic.
After engaging with knowledgeable individuals and asking the right questions, Ken turned his attention towards Irish government bonds.
