FACTSHEET
KID
31-Jan-2020 - Curt Organt, Co-Portfolio Manager,
We seek to capitalise on opportunities across the broad range of the small- and mid-cap U.S. equity market. Overall, we remain modestly overweight high-quality companies that compound their earnings. We also look for select investments in “deeper-value” opportunities – those stocks that we believe are significantly undervalued – and hold a number of income-oriented dividend growth companies.

Fund Summary
We utilise the full opportunity set from deep value to aggressive growth companies; out-of-favour companies with strong potential for improvement, or companies that may appear fully valued, but whose long-term growth potential is underappreciated. Identification of a value creation catalyst is key. The promotion of environmental and/or social characteristics is achieved through the fund's commitment to maintain at least 10% of the value of its portfolio invested in Sustainable Investments, as defined by the SFDR. Additionally, we apply a proprietary responsible screen (exclusion list). The manager is not constrained by the fund’s benchmark, which is used for performance comparison purposes only.

31-Oct-2024 - Matt Mahon, Portfolio Manager,
Most major US stock market indices declined slightly in October, as solid economic data and rising US Treasury yields led to reduced expectations for the Federal Reserve to cut short-term interest rates aggressively at its next policy meeting. At the portfolio level, our stock picks in industrials and business services contributed to returns. Shares one of the largest equipment rental companies in North America primarily engaging in construction and industrial end markets surged following an earnings release that beat consensus estimates. The company posted strong revenues and raised full-year guidance as the combination of mega projects ramping up and recent bolt-on mergers and acquisitions are two tailwinds that are having an outsized impact on the business. Favourable stock selection in information technology also helped relative returns. A portfolio of transportation-linked industrial assets advanced strongly following an earnings release that was ahead of consensus estimates thanks to strong sales growth in the company’s environmental and fueling solutions and mobility technologies segments. Conversely, our stock picks in health care weighed on returns. Shares of a developer, manufacturer, and distributor of high-performance scientific instruments declined following its acquisition of a competitor, its latest in a string of recent bolt-on acquisitions.
31-Jan-2024 - Matt Mahon, Portfolio Manager,
Industrials and business services, information technology, health care, and financials remain the dominating sectors in the portfolio, all with greater than 10% of the equity allocation. During the month, we found opportunities across the various sectors, including materials. Within the space, we look for well-managed, solidly positioned companies with attractive balance sheets relative to the valuation being paid and prefer growing end markets.
