Environmental Sustainability
future for our planet.
We believe that the long-term sustainability of our business requires forward-thinking environmental practices.
We’re continually improving our environmental management capabilities, measuring and reporting our progress, and encouraging our associates to engage in responsible business practices.
Then again, we’re in the business of planning and preparing for the future.

WASTE REDUCTION
Because less is more.
Since 2010, we have made significant progress in reducing
waste and increasing recycling:1
- Single-stream recycling in 98% of our offices worldwide
- Extended composting across our owned U.S. facilities
- Expanded energy-from-waste programs, which divert
waste from landfills to generate energy
SUSTAINABLE WORKPLACES
The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) building rating system is designed to promote sustainable construction and renovation practices. Our goal is to obtain LEED certification or other industry-leading certifications, such as Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method (BREEAM), for all new construction and major renovation projects.
OF OUR REAL ESTATE HAS ACHIEVED SUSTAINABLE CERTIFICATION3
Our London office was awarded
BREEAM certification and recognized for its exceptional sustainability practices.
ASSOCIATE ENGAGEMENT
Our major global locations have
associate-led sustainability teams
that identify opportunities based
on local community needs, develop recommendations, and implement
their ideas on site or within their
communities. One example is the
creation of corporate gardens at
our Owings Mills, Maryland, campus
and Colorado Springs, Colorado,
office. In 2019, these two gardens
produced over 581 pounds of fresh
fruits and vegetables to help fight
hunger in the community.
Associates in Colorado
Springs plant vegetables
in our corporate garden.
